VIDAS^® LIS Harmonization AOAC Approval

bioMérieux^® INDUSTRY is pleased to announce the AOAC OMA approval for the VIDAS Listeria species assay, LIS, in Select Foods using a harmonized enrichment protocol (Demi-Fraser/Fraser broth.) The method approval number is 2004.06 for this new LIS protocol.

This new LIS protocol is consistent with the enrichment protocol currently used for the VIDAS Listeria monocytogenes assay, LMO2. This second generation automated pathogen screening method for the detection of L. monocytogenes received AOAC OMA approval early this year. The method approval number for LMO2 is 2004.02.

With both of these methods now AOAC OMA approved, the food microbiology laboratory now has the option to use the VIDAS LIS and LMO2 automated pathogen detection assays from a single enriched sample providing the added value of optimized laboratory workflow, efficiency and time savings with AOAC OMA validated test results.
