LSX AOAC Approval

bioMérieux is pleased to announce the VIDAS®
Listeria Species Xpress (LSX) with Ottaviani Agosti Agar (OAA)
for Listeria species AOAC-RI certification (No. 100501) in selected
Meat, Dairy Samples and Environmental Surfaces. The VIDAS LSX
with OAA has been validated and certified as a Performance TestedSM
Method by the AOAC Research Institute as an effective method for
the detection and selective isolation of Listeria species.
The VIDAS LSX Solution combines the use of an innovative media
(Listeria Xpress broth) for optimized Listeria enrichment and
the VIDAS LSX assay. The LX broth functions to reduce lag time
and boost organism recovery. The LSX assay incorporates a combination
of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies, which increases sensitivity
and specificity. Results for Environmental Surfaces are available
in about 26-28 hours, while Meat and Dairy results are available
in about 30-34 hours after sampling.
Meat Samples tested include raw pork, frankfurters, roast beef,
frozen raw ground beef, ham. Environmental Surfaces tested include
stainless steel, plastic, rubber, ceramic, wood, sealed concrete,
cast iron and air filter material. Dairy Samples tested include
yogurt, Camembert cheese, pasteurized whole milk, cheddar cheese,
and vanilla ice cream.
