Media Selection
The BacT/ALERT iLYM media is a supplemented carbohydrate-based
media optimized to detect high-acid producing organisms, such
as Lactobacillus, yeasts and molds in commercially sterile
food and beverage products.The iAST bottle is a TSB-based bottle
optimized to detect aerobic microorganisms in sterile food
and beverage products. The iNST is a TSB-based bottle optimized
to detect anaerobic microorganisms in sterile food and beverage
products.

Easy Identification: Color-coded labels and peel-off
bar codes simplify identification and data processing to reduce
errors and facilitate random loading and reloading.
Data Integrity: Since BacT/ALERT readings are not tied
to the original location of the bottle, there are no limitations
for returning bottles to the instrument. Upon reload, the operator
loads the bottle in any available cell and the readings continue
from where they left off. This ensures that data integrity is
maintained during usual (and unusual) laboratory protocols.
