is pleased to announce the launch of SM ID2 Agar, a new chromogenic
medium for the selective isolation and detection of Salmonella.
This second-generation chromogenic medium features increased
nutrient capacity, color intensity, sensitivity of detection and
specificity of coloration. With 3 chromogenic substrates, SM ID2
optimizes the selective isolation and differentiation of Salmonella.
- Salmonella colonies, including serotype Typhi, Paratyphi
and most Lactose(+) Salmonella present pale pink to
mauve colonies
- Other organisms are either inhibited, colorless or pale
blue in appearance
- Intense coloration of Salmonella colonies on a colorless
background
- Large colony size after only 18-24 hrs. incubation
- More than 60 food matrices have been tested
- Several protocols and applications have been studied
- Salmonella isolation from different selective
enrichment broths
- Salmonella detection according to the VIDAS®
ICS method
- Confirmation of positive VIDAS SLM tests
- Direct identification of isolated colonies using API®
20E and ID 32 E
