Test Cards

The VITEK 2 Compact Test Card is a sealed container, so no aerosol, spills, splattering or personal contamination can occur, ensuring personnel safety. Each card is comprised of up to 64 wells with a combination of substrates for enzymatic utlilization, carbonhydrate acidification and miscellaneous tests. External marks are no longer required, and barcodes provide all the necessary information for each test, reducing transcription errors and increasing traceability.

Gram-positive
The Gram-positive card consists of tests specific for Gram-positive cocci, staphylococci, streptococci, enterococci and related genera.
Time to result is 2-8 hrs.

Gram-negative
The Gram-negative card is for identification of Gram- negative bacilli, fermenters and non-fermenters. Time to result is 2-10 hrs.

BCL
The BCL card is for the identification of gram-positive spore-forming bacilli. Time to result is 14 hrs.

YST
The YST card is for the identification of yeasts and yeast-like organisms. Time to result is 18 hrs.
