1. What is the recommended interval for calibration
of the air IDEAL?
Annual calibration is recommended.
2. Does the air IDEAL come with a certificate
to demonstrate calibration?
Two certificates are provided. The Control Certificate shows
that we control the airflow rate, the user’s interface and
all the accessories. The Adjustment Certificate gives the measuring
conditions, the validity of our measuring instrument (anemometer)
and the airflow rate.
3. What information is included in a calibration
report?
The Control and Adjustment Certificate includes:
- Date, air IDEAL serial number, user identification
- Information on the measuring equipment: anemometer, thermometer
and barometer.
- The air IDEAL average flow rate (+/- 2L/min)
- The sampling flow rate curve.
- The total sampled volume.
- The battery charging and inspection of the O-ring seals,
shell and keypad are also performed and recorded.
4. How long does it take to fully charge
the air IDEAL battery?
The normal time required to completely recharge a discharged
battery pack is 14 hours.
5. Does bioMérieux provide a basic
validation package for the air IDEAL that includes IQ, OQ and
PQ?
Customers who purchase air IDEAL receive the Qualification Guidelines
booklet. This booklet includes a Qualification Plan, Installation
Qualification and Operational Qualification. There are various
testing protocols and sheets for recording results and all necessary
information. A specific Performance Qualification is not performed;
the air IDEAL uses the principle of impaction and is in compliance
with the draft standard ISO/DIS 14698-1.
6. Is the control panel sealed so that disinfectant
cannot damage it?
Yes, all parts of the air IDEAL can be disinfected with a towelette
soaked 70% ethanol or with a standard disinfectant. Many customers
spray the body of the air IDEAL with disinfectant between samplings.
7. Does the air IDEAL come with preset sampling
volumes?
The sample volume is adjustable from 5 to 10 liters in 1-liter
steps and 10 to 1000 liters in 10-liter steps. Up to 4 sample
volumes may be stored in the memory.
