Guaranteeing the absence of microbiological contamination in an isolator is essential, so bioMerieux is pleased to announce the introduction of the Isolator Range of culture media, which is a new line of media specifically designed for environmental monitoring of isolators.

The Isolator Count Tact™ Irradiated Agar is a contact plate specifically designed to monitor the surfaces in isolators. The Isolator Trypcase Soy Irradiated Agar is a mono plate used for the dynamic or static microbiological control of the air and personnel.

This new range of media is triple-wrapped with the second layer being a flexible aluminum pouch. This innovative solution offers:

• Complete impermeability to sterilizing agents used in isolators
• Reduced rinsing time due to a smooth and inert surface which does not absorb sterilizing agent molecules during the sterilization phase
• A gas- and liquid-impermeable seal
• An outside cellophane pouch to protect the aluminum pouch, enabling the media to be introduced into a clean zone
• A tear-easy notch to facilitate opening
• A radio-sensitive indicator label to facilitate product identification
