BacT/ALERT® Culture Bottles
for Platelet Testing
ST. LOUIS– bioMérieux® INDUSTRY has
announced the introduction of new, FDA-cleared BacT/ALERT®
culture bottles designed for quality control testing of leukocyte-reduced
apheresis platelets. To better meet the stringent demands of blood
centers, bioMérieux has implemented improvements in the
production process and internal quality control standards. For
the new bottles, bioMérieux has instituted 100% quality
control inspection to ensure strict sterility measures are maintained.
The new bottles also feature newly issued product numbers, modified
labeling to help laboratories distinguish between Industry bottles
and Clinical blood culture bottles, and new product inserts specifically
for quality control testing of leukocyte-reduced a apheresis platelets.
These new bottles feature the same media formulation as bottles
currently in use, ensuring continued high performance.
As part of its effort to meet the needs of laboratories throughout
the United States, bioMérieux INDUSTRY has restructured
