| bioMérieux Introduces VITEK® 2 Compact
with Advanced Identification Technology
St. Louis, USA – March 16, 2005. A world leader in the field of in vitro diagnostics, bioMérieux completes its VITEK 2 range of automated microbial identification and susceptibility testing systems through the launch of VITEK 2 Compact.
The newly launched VITEK 2 Compact, a system for identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing, offers the same advantages as VITEK 2 in a more compact form.
Identification performance has been enhanced on VITEK 2 Compact systems through the introduction of “Advanced Colorimetric™” technology. An expanded database of over 330 species of microorganisms can be identified using the new VITEK 2 Compact Colorimetric Identification cards.
VITEK 2 Compact was launched for the US industrial markets in December, 2004 and will progressively be commercialized in all other countries for industrial customers.
VITEK 2 Compact offers a simple solution to the complex task of identification and is designed with features to enable complete compliance with 21 CFR, part 11 regulations.
